How long does it take to get my refund?

The IRS says that most refunds are issued within less than 21 days. This also depends on how you file and choose to get your refund.

When does the IRS open?

The IRS typically opens for e-filing on the third week of January.

The federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2022 tax year is April 18, 2023.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes. Please give us a call at (360) 922-0235 to make an appointment, or drop off your documents (no appointment needed) at our office.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Every taxpayer's situation is different, but here are some common items you may need to bring:

• Valid government-issued photo ID for taxpayer and spouse
• Social security cards for everyone listed on tax return and birth dates for all dependents
• Proof of income documents (W-2s, 1099s, unemployment, income and dividends on interest statements, etc.)
• Insurance if you purchased off the marketplace (Form 1095-A)
• Childcare expenses and provider information
• Business and other deductible expenses
• Alimony paid or received
• Property taxes paid
• Mortgage and home equity interest paid
• Bank account information (account and routing number) if you would like to have your refund direct deposited or if you would like to pay taxes you owe using Direct Debit
• A copy of last year’s tax return, if possible

Can I get a copy of my tax return?

If you filed at Northside Tax Service, you can come to our office with photo ID and we can print you out a copy or we can set up with out secure, online portal for you to access your documents.

If you filed elsewhere, you must contact your tax preparer or request a a copy from the IRS.

Does my spouse have to come with me to pick up a check?

Either spouse may pick up and sign for the check. Please bring a valid photo ID with you.

How much does it cost to have my taxes prepared?

Due to the nature of our fee structure, we are unable to give you a quote without seeing all your documents. Please give us a call at (360) 922-0235 to talk with one of our tax preparers.

What do you charge for E-filing?

E-filing is free with paid tax preparation.

What payment options do you take?

We accept cash, check, and credit card payments from all major card companies. We can also withhold tax prep fees from your refund for an additional fee.
